Our great desire is centred upon saving children from extreme poverty, child abuse and illiteracy.
Let me introduce you to Elisha a trusted personal friend of ours.
Elisha is an untouchable class Indian .. (the poorest and most despised people of India). Elisha had a vision to start an orphanage and a school for the Dalit people in his community. When I first met Elisha I thought his vision was way too big.
He started with just one room in his own house which he and his wife shared with thirteen orphans. He had no money and no means of supporting his own family let alone the orphans.
Today Light Home has an orphanage for ninety children, a school, and is starting various businesses so that he can continue to feed the sick, the elderly and the children in his region.
His new businesses will mean that many Dalit women who are in bondage to the sex trade will be liberated and many more orphanages and schools will be opened.
Without such projects, children will be impoverished, sexually abused, illiterate, loveless and abandoned. Women would be beaten and traded as cattle in the sex industry.
Older people would be abandoned and left to starve to death.
We believe that no child should suffer deprivation and lack of love. We believe that education and loving provision are the keys to breaking the cycle of severe poverty
