Announcing our new 1.25Kg flour packets .
Great News for dedicated bakers..We now have our range of flours in 1.25Kg packets. These are no ordinary packets… They are zip sealed so you can re-use them. The ziplock prevents ingress of moisture when stored in the refrigerator. But they are also three-layered. Three layered oxygen proof packets are vital to preserve flour quality. So why is the packet so very important with wholegrain fours?
“So what’s in a packet?”
Well apart from the obvious. The packets themselves are tri-layer as they are specially designed to exclude oxygen and preserve shelf life. There is considerable technology in the actual films and the lamination process. But why is keeping oxygen out of the flour so very important a fact ignored by most flour millers….I mean nearly everyone uses paper packets.
Keeping out oxygen is crucially important with wholegrain flour as the flour contains the oils of the germ which can go rancid unless oxygen is excluded.
“Virtually all organic flour millers discard 85% of the nutritional content of the flour”
Since the oils go rancid, most organic flour millers actually throw away this vital ingredient in order to increase shelf life. So, nearly all mills, discard the germ and bran and sell it as Pollard ( Horse feed)!
Yikes what a wicked waste. …to take the very best part of the food and treat it as worthless.
This is standard industry practice.Hard to believe but true! You see, without the germ and bran, the flour lasts much longer. The fact that it now has little nutrition is very sad….and widely ignored.
When you use flours which contain the germ and bran, your gut health is promoted and the flavour and nutritional aspects are vastly better.
“You will be relieved to know that all the bran and all the germ goes into our flour”
Yes our flours are actually a live food with stacks of enzymes, vitamins, and minerals plus good oils. Since we put all the bran and germ in our flours a superior quality packet is absolutely critically important to preserve shelf life.
What is wrong with a paper bag? Yes paper is fine if you can be content with a two-month shelf life in hot weather. After that period of time the product degrades very quickly
“We put as much care into the quality of the packaging as the quality of the product”
Since we use such high-quality packaging, this allows us to offer you a true whole grain flour which will not degrade.
This makes our product unique in the marketplace. Vastly higher nutrition and longer shelf life are the benefits to you
